Demolition Slows at Former Red Lion Site

RED LION DEMOLISION 2EUGENE, Ore. — If you drive along Coburg Road, you may have noticed demolition work on the former Red Lion Hotel site has slowed.

The backhoes and bulldozers haven’t moved in days, which we found out is intentional.

Portions of the building have been used for firefighter training. Already drills were held in the kitchen and lobby areas. It’s possible more training will be held May 1.

Natural Grocers will build a new store on the property, which they say is scheduled to open by September.
