LANE COUNTY, Ore. – Lane County investigators spent nearly 24-hours combing a 650-acre property where one person was found dead and another injured Friday evening. The property, on Needham road off of Lorane Highway, has two homes but multiple dwellings where many people live. Deputies believe the incident could be criminal, but wouldn’t say what their search effort was specifically for.
“State police are assisting with the crime scene, at this point we have no reason to believe that there’s any additional threat to the public based on this incident, but we’re going to be out here for a little while checking to make sure we’re doing a good thorough job on this,” said Sgt. Cliff Harrold, Lane County Sheriff’s Office Detective.
Deputies have not released the cause of death or injury, or the names of the victims. Neighbors believe there could have been shots fired on the property that night.
