COOS BAY, Ore. — A derelict 30-foot boat has been found near Coos Bay.
It was removed from Horsfall Beach on Thursday afternoon.
Biologists with ODFW are sending samples from the vessel to Oregon State University’s Marine Science Center.
No hazardous material was found on the boat, but there was marine life clinging to it.
It also has Japanese writing on it, but the exact origin of the boat hasn’t been determined.
