Eighty-nine players threw for all 18 holes, took a break for lunch and then played the course a second time.
The tournament was broken into different categories so there was fair competition for all of the participants. Both professionals and amateurs said the new course was much-needed in Eugene.
“It’s nice to have a like a full-size course, which is a big difference because you usually have to play like two rounds on nine to get satisfied, but it’s really good out here,” said disc golf player Mason Caldwell.
This is the first 18-hole disc golf course in Eugene. Before the course was built, players had to play the nine-hole course at Westmoreland or drive to Dexter or Cottage Grove for bigger courses.
Most players testing out the course said they will be back to play it again.
