District Saves, Hands Out Moffitt Bricks

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Former staff, students and families of the former Moffitt Elementary School can get their own commemorative brick from the school.

Moffitt Elementary closed in 2012, and crews are demolishing it. The Springfield School District says it’s reusing as many materials as it can for another building.

As part of the salvaging process, commemorative bricks from the school are being made available to the public.

If you’d like to reserve a brick, email Teresa Abbott at teresa.abbott@springfield.k12.or.us before January 31.
