EUGENE, Ore. — Ocean conservation experts will be taking part in a film screening Thursday night at the University of Oregon.
The documentary called “Ocean Frontiers: The Dawn of a New Era in Ocean Stewardship” is about the community working together to improve the health of the oceans and the economy.
Much of the movie was filmed in Port Orford on the Oregon coast.
David Marcus, who is organizing the screening, says he saw the film at a law conference in 2011 and was inspired to share it with the community.
“For the younger population and those who are intimidated or just disinterested with institutions in general, I hope to demystify the process that law and civil action can hold for some people.”
The screening is Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the University of Oregon School of Law.
A panel of experts will then discuss the issues brought up in the film.
