Doggone Easter Egg Hunt

EUGENE, Ore. — Families took their furry friends to a Easter egg hunt Saturday. Around 100 dogs sniffed around Petersen Park to find the 3,000 eggs scattered across he grass.

The hunt was a fundraising event for the Greenhill Humane Society. While any dog was welcome to attend the event, most attendees were former shelter dogs from Greenhill, First Avenue or other rescue organization.

“We were able to put ribbons on any of the dogs rescued today on the leashes, and I would say well over half that were here today are all with their second homes at least,” said Sasha Elliott, Greenhill’s event manager.

Elliott said the fundraiser brought in around $1,000 for the shelter.
