Dogs Compete in Agility Trials

EUGENE, Ore. — Hundreds of dogs and their owners are descending upon Eugene this weekend to show off their best tricks.

The Eugene Kennel Club is holding its annual dog agility trials at the Lane Events Center starting Friday.

Dogs are run through all sorts of courses, challenging them to go up-and-down, under-and-over, out-and-around–skills that come easier to some breeds over others.

“The dogs that have a higher pay-drive, which herding dogs do tend to do better in agility competitions,” said Carol Ptak, Eugene Kennel Club.

All dogs are welcome, and organizers say the trials feature every skill level and size.

The event is completely free and so is parking, and you can see competition through Sunday.
