DOJ Releases Top Consumer Complaints

The Oregon Department of Justice released its list Wednesday of the top 10 consumer complaints.

Timeshare re-sellers made their debut on the list, followed by magazine sales agents. One company in particular is called Orbital Publishing Group.

Collection agencies moved into the No. 2 spot. An increase in complaints fueled by former Hollywood Video customers bumped that group up.

For the second year in a row, more people griped about telemarketing than any other industry. DOJ says it got more than 1,800 written complaints about telemarketers last year.

Here is the complete list

1. Telemarketing Calls
2. Collection Agencies
3. Home Ownership Issues
4. Telecommunications
5. Motor Vehicle Sales
6. Financial Services
7. International Money Transfers
8. Health Related
9. Magazine Sales Agents
10. Timeshare Resellers
