Double Fatal Crash Closes Highway 101

ROAD CLOSEDCOOS COUNTY, Ore. —  A crash north of Bandon killed two people Monday afternoon.

Troopers say around 3:30 p.m., a car driven by a Bandon man crossed the center line on Highway 101 and hit a van that was driven by a San Francisco woman. Both of the drivers died at the scene.

Oregon State Police shut down the highway for about three hours. The investigation is ongoing, including if the the drivers were wearing their seat belts.

Identification of the drivers is expected Tuesday following notification of their families.
