Douglas County Changes Immunization Rule

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. — County immunization services may soon be disappearing for some residents who will be deemed ineligible by the CDC come March 1.

Until this time, the CDC’s Vaccine for Children program and others allowed for under-insured individuals to be eligible for vaccinations. The Section 317 program allowed for children through the age of 18 to receive vaccinations if their guardian could not afford their deductible or co-pay.

Starting in March, the policy will change so that any insured child receiving a vaccination will be required to pay in full at the time of their visit.

More information on the change can be found on the Oregon Immunization Program website.
