(CNN) — History has been made on Wall Street.

The Dow topped the 16,000 mark for the first time ever Monday morning.

Not to be outdone, the S&P 500 also reached a new high, surpassing 1,800 for the first time.

Both indexes are up more than 20 percent this year. Experts credit the gains to the Federal Reserve’s stimulus policies and decent corporate earnings.

Tom Grider, Investment Advisor with Roehl & Yi, joined us on KEZI 9 News Midday to explain what this means for the average investor.

Interesting that the 5 PM news piece wasn’t quite as comprehensive as this. It didn’t seem to specifically addressing the billions of dollars a month the Fed is injecting into the financial markets, and whether this should be a point of caution for investors. Particularly those who have been railroaded into taking on more risk in the name of returns as interest rates remain ultra low.
