Driver Cited for Hitting Motorcyclist

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Oregon State Police have cited a Springfield woman for allegedly hitting a motorcyclist with her car on Wednesday.

OSP says that Terry Brateng was riding his motorcycle southbound on Interstate 5 when he pulled over to take shelter from the rain beneath the Harlow Road overpass. After getting off his motorcycle, police say he was struck by a car driven by Kaitlyn Inman, who had traveled onto the shoulder of the road. Brateng was seriously injured and taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend.

Inman was cited for Failure to Drive Within a Lane.

All this driver was charged with is failing to maintain a single lane of travel. How about adding stupid to the charge?
