It happened during rush hour traffic Thursday morning on Highway 99 northbound.
The vehicle ended up on its top. The driver had to be extricated and was rushed by ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend with serious injuries.
Investigators say it could have been worse.
“If (the vehicle) was headed northbound, which is what it appears, it would have crossed over the southbound lanes of traffic…Very lucky no one else was involved,” said Chief Terry New, Lane Fire Authority.
First responders say the driver sustained life-threatening injuries.
