Drivers Cited for Following Too Closely

8-27 game day traffic picEUGENE, Ore. — Eugene Police held another traffic sting.

This time the focus was making sure drivers weren’t following too closely.

Officers say it’s a major cause of car crashes in Eugene. So Tuesday, they focused on Beltline.

During the five-hour sting, police cited 34 drivers for speeding, 16 for driving uninsured, and 10 for following too closely. Four people received tickets for their window tint. Seventeen drivers got off with warnings.

    How about we crack down on another big problem in the Eugene area. Noise pollution. Let’s do a sting for the drivers who need to have their exhaust systems and stereo’s heard a 1/2 mile away.
