EUGENE, Ore. — Duck fans already formed quite a line outside the Moshofsky Center to ensure they get first dibs at the Athletics Surplus Sale.
Tents and chairs started showing up outside the gates at the athletic offices Thursday night for the sale that doesn’t start until Saturday morning.
“I came over here last night just to check-up, to make sure I wasn’t going to be the only one starting early, because I was just going to come out this morning, but there were already,” said Maddy Henshaw, who’s camping out for the sale.
“It’s worth it just because you have the opportunity to get a lot of Oregon Nike gear that you wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else,” said Howard Pickering, who is also camping out for the sale.
The university expects close to 5,000 people to plow through the piles of Nike gear set up at the Moshofsky Center.
The selection includes clothes and equipment from every sport, even game-worn football jerseys and helmets.
The sale happens May 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside the Moshofsky Center, located off of Leo Harris Parkway.
