Ducks Beat Cougs Without Dotson

Oregon Head Coach Dana Altman:

Oregon’s Mike Moser, Jason Calliste and Joseph Young:

EUGENE, Ore. — Mike Moser scored a game-high 21 points, including the Ducks’ first 11 points of the second half, in Oregon’s (18-8, 6-8) 67-53 win over Washington State (9-18, 2-13).

Oregon guard Damyean Dotson’s streak of 60 consecutive starts was snapped in the wake of being cited for trying to enter a bar with a false ID over the weekend. Dotson did not play in the game and head coach Dana Altman would not say whether he will be available for Thursday’s game at No. 23 UCLA.

“For two years, (Damyean’s) done a lot of good things,” Altman said. “He’s going to be alright.”

Altman said he and Dotson would sit down and figure out what the next step is.

Jason Calliste got his first start of the season in Dotson’s absence and scored 12 points. Joseph Young added 18 despite shooting just 4-12 from the field.

Oregon’s defense held the Cougars to 33 percent shooting from the field, forced ten steals and blocked eight shots.
