Ducks Run Away From Trojans, Win 78-66

PHIL KNIGHT BOBBLEHEADEUGENE — The Ducks went on a 12-0 run early in the second half, turning a halftime deficit into a commanding lead, and cruised to a 78-66 win over USC.

Joseph Young scored 21 points to lead all scorers, and Jason Calliste added 18 points off the bench, as the Ducks improved to 15-6 overall, 3-6 in the Pac-12.

The Ducks forced 22 USC turnovers and collected 16 steals, which was one steal shy of a school record.

USC led 38-34 at halftime, but the Ducks quickly tied the game. It was 44-44 with just over 16 minutes left, when the Ducks went on a 12-0 run to take a 56-44 lead midway through the second half. The Trojans never got closer than 8 points the rest of the game.

The Ducks celebrated Phil Knight’s birthday during the game, presenting the Nike founder with a birthday card during the game. Knight will turn 76 on February 24th. Oregon gave away a Phil Knight bobble head to everybody in attendance.

Oregon next plays at #1 Arizona on Thursday, February 6th.
