Ducks Send Memorabilia to Fan in Moore

EUGENE, Ore. — A Ducks fan in Oklahoma is cheering thanks to the Oregon Football Team and some fans.

The 17-year-old and her family are from Moore, Oklahoma, and they lost nearly everything in a tornado. Angel Wilson from Moore is a big fan of the green and yellow, but after a tornado struck in May, she lost nearly all of her collectible memorabilia, including her prized 2009 autographed poster.

Wilson’s dad, Billy, sent pictures of their home after the disaster. He says after hearing their story, some Duck fans got in touch with Coach Mark Helfrich and the team sent a signed poster to Oklahoma.

“We always try to do our part when we can. It’s always difficult because we receive a lot of requests, a lot of donation requests, and we almost have to look at each one and try to determine what we can do. In this case, we were able to provide something to a family that had lost just about everything,” said Craig Pintens, Senior Associate Athletic Director.

Angel’s dad says they lost field passes from the 2009 Civil War and coaches box tickets, among other things. Billy Wilson says Angel just got home from the hospital, where she was recovering from pneumonia, and the poster couldn’t have come at a better time.
