EUGENE, Ore. — The Eugene Police Department can finally kick back into their new office chairs this afternoon, they’re all moved into their new home off of Country Club road. Hundreds gathered for the grand opening today, while the public was also invited to tour the facility. The building offers twice as much space as their old spot at City Hall.
“It’s hard to be a good sprinter if your shoe sizes are three sizes too small. This new open building allows a flow of information and interaction so that the crisp and focused policing that we do can happen even better,” said Eugene Police Chief, Pete Kerns.
On top of green developtment and a cost effective, refurbished building, there are additions that will strengthen the work flow of E-P-D. Including a line-up room for identifying suspects, which an E-P-D spokesperson says, is the only one in the region.
