The metal eagle sat in front of Industrial Finishes & Systems on West 1st Avenue, but on Sunday night, someone took it.
The company’s board says the police are investigating the incident, but he thinks the thief might try to trade in the metal for money.
“Is that all the value we have on good art? Local artists do good work just to grind it up? That’s not right,” said Stuart Barr, Chairman of the Board of Industrial Finishes.
The eagle is about three and a half feet tall with a five-foot wingspan.
A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the thief.
