EUGENE, Ore. — The Ducks took on UCLA Saturday afternoon and to kick off the the exciting matchup, ESPN College GameDay broadcasted from the University of Oregon campus.
Duck fans were up early to join the show.
This is the fifth straight year the show has stopped in Eugene, making it the longest streak in College GameDay history.
The crowd did not disappoint, packing the campus quad before showtime at 6am.
Fans came with signs, Duck gear, and a whole lot of excitement. They say they’ve been up since Friday night and getting little to no sleep, but a lack of rest isn’t going to stop these fans.
“We’ve been up all night. I took a small nap but we all came here on a big bus together so we’ve been up since really early morning,” said Meghan Ministri, a University of Oregon student.
“We all have tickets to the game. We’re up from now until 4pm and we’ll be at Autzen. You’ll see us on the walk over,” said Whitney Reed, also a student.
This is the eighth year College GameDay has been to Eugene.
