Early Morning Shooting Sends Two to the Hospital

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Springfield Police responded to a shooting at a residence on the west side of Springfield around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Police say a party was just finishing up when the shooting happened. Once on scene, police found two people had been shot in the leg.

The victims were sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and were released later in the day. Witnesses say it happened at 2345 6th Street in Springfield, but say they are not allowed to speak on the situation.

Springfield Police are still investigating the situation. Police say alcohol was involved in the shooting.

No charges have been filed and no one has been arrested. The case will likely go to the district attorney for a decision in the coming week.
