MCMINNVILLE, Ore. An EF-1 tornado ripped through a few buildings with wind speeds of nearly 85 mph in McMinnville Thursday afternoon. The most extensive damage was to an auto supply company with damage to a few storage garages. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the storm. The EF-1 rating would place estimated winds from the tornado at 85-90 mph. Assessment teams from the National Weather Service Office in Portland estimated the tornado was on the ground three separate times from 4:30-4:35pm with some spots seeing EF-0 damage mainly downed trees.
In addition to the tornado, three separate funnel clouds were reported in Hillsboro, near Corvallis, and Harrisburg Thursday afternoon. There was no confirmation at this time that any of the funnels established contact with the ground.
