EUGENE, Ore. — Because we’re dropping below freezing, the Egan Warming Centers have opened up.
A number of people are seeking shelter at the First Christian Church in Eugene. It’s just one of the five warming centers around town.
Its capacity is about 45, but organizers say if it reaches that number they can always send people to the other locations.
For those staying there, they’re just grateful they have a warm place to rest their heads.
The warming centers will be open tonight and they’re on standby for tomorrow night.
