Eight Arrested for Helping Fugitive

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Springfield police have arrested eight people for helping a fugitive who escaped from the Douglas County Jail.

Thomas Grimes, who escaped from the jail in June, was arrested at a campsite near Fall Creek in July.

His sister Lisa Ann Henderson, 38, was one of the five Springfield residents arrested for hindering prosecution in relation to Grimes’ arrest. The four arrested Tuesday were Ronald Stuart Arand, 47; Lori Ann Hull, 65; Linda Kay Robinson, 65; and, Gary Everett Martin, 34.

Three other people–all transients–were also arrested for hindering prosecution in the case on July 18. Springfield police say these five people were arrested for helping Grimes avoid arrest by giving him aid, shelter, transportation, money and warning of his impending arrest.
