Eight Arrested for Helping Fugitive

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Springfield police have arrested eight people for helping a fugitive who escaped from the Douglas County Jail.

Thomas Grimes, who escaped from the jail in June, was arrested at a campsite near Fall Creek in July.

His sister Lisa Ann Henderson, 38, was one of the five Springfield residents arrested for hindering prosecution in relation to Grimes’ arrest.┬áThe four arrested Tuesday were Ronald Stuart Arand, 47; Lori Ann Hull, 65; Linda Kay Robinson, 65; and, Gary Everett Martin, 34.

Three other people–all transients–were also arrested for hindering prosecution in the case on July 18.┬áSpringfield police say these five people were arrested for helping Grimes avoid arrest by giving him aid, shelter, transportation, money and warning of his impending arrest.
