Emergency Landing at Medford Airport

MEDFORD, Ore. (KDRV) — A commercial airplane had to make an emergency landing at the Rogue Valley International Medford Airport after reports of smoke in the cabin.

A Delta/SkyWest plane departed to Salt Lake City at 6:15 a.m. and at 6:30 a.m. the plane turned around due to reports of smoke in the cabin. The plane landed safely and 70 passengers and crew were able to evacuate safely.

Accommodations are being found for passengers and some have been re-booked on a 1:15 p.m. SkyWest flight. The cause of this incident is under investigation. We will have updates as they become available.
