EPD Releases Traffic Sting Results

epd enforcementEUGENE, Ore. — The results are in from a Eugene police traffic sting at 18th and Chambers.

Nearly 70 citations were issued. Thirty of those were for cell phone violations. Nineteen weren’t wearing their seat belts.

Police say cell phone use has been a big problem at their previous two enforcements as well.

They’ll be out again on May 19 at MLK Jr. Boulevard and Coburg Road.

    Meanwhile Eugene is averaging a bank/store robbery once a week, homeless people camping on “public” property and harassing citizens downtown, thefts and vandalism everywhere that they don’t even try to solve.

    But it’s good to see the cops are really concerned about people using a cell phone while driving.

    They could have ticketed more had they got there during morning commute………………….
