EPD Responds to Violent Incident

UPDATE 6:46 P.M.: EPD has confirmed that one person died at the scene.  Police say they responded to a report of a fight in the area and that responders tried to perform CPR on the victim, but he did not survive.  Officers say that they have a suspect in custody.

EUGENE, Ore. — Police have responded to a violent incident on the 2200-block of Roosevelt Boulevard.

An EPD spokesperson says that a dispute or fight broke out near the intersection of Roosevelt and Bethel, resulting in serious injuries.  Police are currently searching for a suspect.

Roosevelt was closed for a while, but has since been reopened.

We have a crew on-scene and will have more information as it becomes available.
