This was the last of several planned meetings held throughout the last few months. Through presentations, officers give tips on how to become a harder target.
After evaluating results from previous meetings, police say they pay off.
“We’ve had several arrests now where the witnesses said they only called in the suspicious behavior because of what they learned at one of our neighborhood meetings, or while one of our staff was out canvassing the area,” said Sgt. Lisa Barrong, EPD Crime Prevention Unit.
EPD plans on continuing these meetings. Officers will just take time off for the holidays and pick them back up in the new year.
