EUGENE, Ore. — Five consecutive years and counting; ESPN calls Eugene one of the most popular destinations for College GameDay and next Saturday, they’ll be back.

The buzz on campus Sunday was over ESPN’s College GameDay coming to Eugene next weekend when the ducks take on the UCLA Bruins.

It carried over onto Twitter as well. College GameDay’s Twitter announcement got nearly 1,500 retweets.

ESPN says the show has made eight stops in Eugene total.

University students say they’re excited because game day brings a surge of school spirit and they’re getting ready for a good game.

“I’m pumped. I’ve got tp make a sign though. I have to be prepared for that stuff,” said Michael Benedetti, a student at the University of Oregon.

“Definitely. I’ll be one of the first ones at that, hopefully,” said Anthony Mendez, another student.

College GameDay was on campus last November when the Ducks took on Stanford.

Students say the atmosphere at Autzen is already loud enough as it is but having College GameDay on campus will bring even more energy.

The second ranked Ducks will take on the 12th seed UCLA Bruins at 4pm on Saturday.
