Eugene Cyclist Hit by Car

EUGENE, Ore– A bicyclist is recovering, after being struck by a car Wednesday evening.

The accident occurred around 7:30 p.m.  at West 18th and Hawkins Street. Officers arrived at the scene to find the cyclist on the ground. They set up flares, and restricted all access.

Eugene Police did call out its Major Collision Team, because on initial assesment it appeared the cyclist sustained life threatening injuries.

After taking him away though, they found his condition wasn’t as severe.

Police are not sure if he was wearing a helmet. No charges have been filed.
