Eugene Felon Arrested for Hit and Run

EUGENE, Ore. — Deputies arrested a Eugene man for hit and run for allegedly trying to run someone over with his car, deputies say. They later found he was also a felon in possession of firearms.

On Saturday afternoon, deputies say two people saw a suspicious man parked on Territorial Road in a white Volkswagen Jetta near where a burglary happened the night before. When they tried to talk to him, deputies say the man sped off and hit one of them.

Deputies later found the driver, 36-year-old Jesse Cochran, of Eugene, in a mobile home in the 27000 block of Clearlake Road. He surrendered without incident.

Inside the home, investigators found guns, ammunition, firearms silencers, explosives, jewelry and coins.

Cochran was arrested and lodged in the Lane County Jail for nine counts of felon in possession of a firearm, felony hit and run, second-degree assault and unlawful possession of meth.
