Several local groups, including the Community Alliance of Lane County, are working together to educate the public about the gender spectrum and how it’s not just male or female anymore.
“There are trans people who do not identify with the gender that they were born and so people…it’s a real hard struggle with these really definitive gender norms,” said Stephanie Talbott, CALC Interim Director.
Tuesday night, a discussion will be held with a panel of people who identify themselves as transgender or gender non-conforming. That’s at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 990 Oak St. in Eugene.
The week will end with a Transgender Day of Remembrance at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at the Atrium Building, 99 W. 10th Ave.
