Eugene Hit-and-Run Suspect Arrested

Benjamin Stanton mugEUGENE, Ore. — Eugene police arrested a man involved in a vehicle vs. pedestrian¬†hit-and-run incident that happened on Feb. 28.

Police arrested 25-year-old Benjamin Michael Stanton on Thursday for felony hit and run and DUII.

Police say Stanton allegedly hit a female pedestrian with a van on Garfield Street near West Ninth Place and drove away. They say the woman was sent to the hospital with serious injuries. Police located the Chrysler Town and Country a few hours after the crash.

Police are continuing to investigation the incident. Anyone with more information on this case is asked to call Officer Michael Klews at 541-682-5138.
