EUGENE, Ore. — A Eugene man spent the day Saturday carving a 650 lb. pumpkin.

The artist said Oregon is the perfect place to grow these giant pumpkins; the one he carved was grown in Albany.

The intricate carving takes quite some time for this artist.

“It usually takes about an hour, forty five minutes to an hour for every pound, so this pumpkin is 650 lbs. so it should take you know six to seven hours for this,” said pumpkin carver Scott Cully.

The pumpkin will be displayed at Beaudet Jewelry, 2849 Oak St,  for the next few weeks.
