EUGENE, Ore. — A Eugene man is in the Lane County Jail after he allegedly stabbed three people. A man he was trying to rob, and two others attempting to st
op him. It happened near Highway 99 and Roosevelt Boulevard Friday afternoon.
Police say 23-year-old Justin James Peterson robbed 64-year-old Michael Claughton at knife point. Two men tried to intervene and were stabbed. 36-year-old David Burdick was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. His brother, 39-year-old Douglas Burdick, recieved minor injuries after confronting Peterson. Claughton, originally held up, also suffered minor injuries.
Peterson fled the scene but police caught up with him after a short foot chase. He also had an outstanding warrant.
