Eugene Meets with City Hall Design Teams

EUGENE, Ore. — There are two finalists left in the search for the best architectural team to design the new Eugene City Hall.

A public meeting will be held at 6 p.m. inside the Downtown Eugene Library building at the Bascom-Tykeson Room.

Both of the finalists will present their qualifications, experience and approach to the project.

The two finalist teams are THA Architecture based in Portland. However, it will be partnering with Eugene firm 2fORM Architecture.

The other is Rowell Brokaw Architects based in Eugene, which will team up with The Miller Hull Partnership in Seattle.

Building designs will not be presented because the city is choosing a professional team that will initiate and coordinate the design process.

Each team will make a half hour presentation, followed by questions. The design teams will show how they could build a city hall that is welcoming, sustainable, reflects Eugene’s identity and meets the needs of the community and the needs of the future.
