Eugene Nears City Hall Firm Decision

EUGENE, Ore. — The city of Eugene’s one step closer to finding the future designer of the Eugene City Hall.

The city narrowed its list of developers for the new city hall down to three; all three finalists have ties to Eugene.

Those firms are Robertson Sherwood Architects, Rowell Rokaw Architects and THA Architecture. Two of the three are based in Eugene and the third is based out of Portland, but is partnering with a Eugene company.

All of the design teams have local and regional footprints.

“It’s always beneficial to have someone who has a good knowledge of the local community. I believe that was something that we were looking for. The evaluation team rated all of the proposals and these are three that came out on top,” said Jan Bohman, City of Eugene Spokeswoman.

The city may choose which one it wants to head the city hall rebuild by Friday, however it can extend the deadline. The chosen team will then work with the city on a design.
