Eugene Police Holds Property Viewing

EUGENE, Ore. — Victims of property crime got the chance Thursday to take back stolen items.

Eugene Police held a property viewing so people could rummage through items police gathered at a recent search.

Officers say last month they seized truckloads of stolen property from two locations.

Many people came to the viewing hoping to find valuable items.

“I came out today to just see if they recovered it and sadly they hadn’t, so we’ll keep trying,” said Eugene resident Mark Lerfald.

“Lots of stuff, but nothing’s mine. I’m just hoping it’s on that truck they busted on Beltline,” said McKenzie area resident Jack Birky.

Eugene Police recovered everything from jewelry and electronics to lawn mowers and motorcycles.

Officers say you need to have filed a police report to attend property viewings.
