Eugene Police Investigate Stabbing

EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene police say they are actively looking for a man who stabbed another man in the back Thursday morning.

Just after 9 a.m., officers responded to the St. Vincent de Paul Service Center on Highway 99 and Roosevelt. Police say two men who frequent the service center got in a fight there.

“Sounds like it was an altercation that started as an arguing match, then a fist fight, and escalated to a stabbing between two people that know each other,” said Sgt. Ryan Molony, Eugene Police.

The victim’s condition is unknown, but officers believe his stab wounds are not life-threatening.

Witnesses saw the suspect flee on foot south on Highway 99. Police say he’s a Hispanic man in his mid-30s, 5’6″ to 5’8″ with a shaved head.
