Eugene Resident Robbed At Gunpoint

EUGENE, Ore. — Police say two men robbed a Eugene resident at gunpoint last night and then led officers on a chase.

Eugene police say Demetrius Hillman and Conor Williams invaded a home on the 700th block of East 17th Avenue.

Officers were able to find them using a tracking app on a stolen cell phone. The two then reportedly led police on a car chase, abandoned the car on Franklin and fled on foot.

Investigators found the suspects on Garden Avenue hiding in bushes.

“I saw flashing lights and cops walking around everywhere and patrol cars were driving back and forth for about 20 minutes until a fire truck showed up with an ambulance. They all got out of the car and they were all huddled over here by the bushes,” said Sam Carlson, a neighbor.

Hillman was admitted to the hospital after putting up a fight with police. Williams was taken to jail.
