EUGENE, Ore. — For the second time in as many weeks, EWEB is left fixing a busted main.
The latest pipe to burst was in a steep area near Spencer Butte Middle School.
Crews created a crater at the site to fix the eight-inch pipe.
EWEB says this time of year, when it doesn’t rain for a while, the soil contracts. The movement is enough to break a cast iron main.
Crews were hoped to have water restored to nearby customers by 10 p.m. that night.
