SPICE provides three progressive summer science camps every June. Rising 6th graders enter the program by participating in the science discovery camp. They return as rising 7th graders to solve mysteries in the forensic investigation camp and finish the series as rising 8th graders with our engineering and computer science camp. Once accepted, participants are guaranteed a spot in all future camps and activities. Spots are available in all three camps.

More than Meets the Eye: Science Discovery Rising 6th Graders Calculate the speed of light while making a yummy snack in “S’Mores at the Speed of Light” and then navigate your way through the science scavenger hunt. Learn about the scientific method with paper airplanes and plumb the depths of the mystery box.

Whodunit? Forensic Investigation
Rising 7th Graders
How do we know what happened before we arrived on the science? Forensics is the science of figuring out just that, whether it’s a 100 million year old comet strike or a murder that happened just last night, learn how scientists solve mysteries with geology, chemistry and archaeology.

Engineering Mad Fun: Physics and Computer Science Rising 8th Graders Learn about simple and complex machines, computer programming and all the physics in between then put your knowledge to work building your own pinball machines.
