It started work Monday to replace a four-inch water main that runs along 10th Avenue between Olive and Charnelton streets. That needs to be finished before a big paving project this summer.
“It’s really an old section of town, number one, and we know that if we wait to replace that, it is going to break. Why not be proactive? That is one of the things we like to do is to get in and replace it before it breaks,” said Joe Harwood, EWEB spokesman.
EWEB says its crews will continue replacing the water main along 10th Avenue down to Lincoln Street. That construction will last until the end of April.
