EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene’s Whiteaker neighborhood has been a destination spot for local beer fans. Now you can add another brewery to the list of pubs to pop into.
Falling Sky Brewery, currently located on Oak Alley, is expanding. It’s newest location will be on 790 Blair Blvd. The space is 50 percent larger and will be a mix of a brewery and Jewish deli.
“First in the country, maybe the world, of a delicatessen of this style with a brew pub, so it makes so much sense to us because it’s sandwich-based, and binding meats like pastrami and corned beef go really well with beer,” said Rob Cohen, co-owner.
The new spot will also have an outside beer garden and serve Oregon spirits.
If all goes as planned, the brew pub will open in July.
Hop Valley is also expanding its facilities from Springfield to Eugene, with a 60-barrel brew house on First Avenue. The production facility is currently up and running.
Hop Valley’s new tasting room attached to the brew house is scheduled to be open in June.
