SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A mobile home fire in the middle of North Game Farm and Beltline roads left a family of seven without a home.
Springfield Police say around 5:30 p.m., the engine exploded as the driver tried re-starting it at a stop light. Flames worked their way through the dashboard.
A father, mother and their five kids made it out okay. They say the vehicle had been having some issues lately, but they’re just happy to be safe.
“I could have a big mansion without my kids and life would suck. So we’re good. We’re healthy,” said Stacy, the owner.
The family says someone pulled over in a van to give them a warm place to sort things out.
The Red Cross may be lending a hand as well.
