EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon Ducks are in the Lone Star State taking on the Texas Longhorns in the Alamo Bowl.
And the flock of fans that couldn’t fly to San Antonio to cheer them on are rooting for the Ducks right at home.
The fans came out in full force at Hop Valley Brewing Company to support the green and yellow in the Alamo Bowl. Fans say this might not be the Rose Bowl, but it doesn’t matter. They’re here all the way for their team.
Fans say the season was up and down, but overall they’re proud of the team. They believe Coach Mark Helfrich had big shoes to fill after Chip Kelly left, and they say he did a great job.
Although these Duck fans there say the season had its ups and downs, a bowl game is a bowl game.
“The games that of course that we thought we were going to win we didn’t so those were some hiccups but for the most part i think we did fabulous,” said Duck fan Briana Young.
Fans say they hope the Ducks end the season with a bang because they are looking forward to next season.
One of the big reasons why fans say they’re excited for next year is the return of Mariota and the progress they hope to see from Coach Helfrich.
