Fans Gather to Watch ASU Game

EUGENE, Ore. — Unlike other game days, Autzen is quiet but local bars and restaurants are not.

The Thursday night games are always a different type of excitement than the standard Saturday showdown. People don’t seem to care that it’s a work and school night.

At The Cooler, fans are still out in full force ready to watch they’re Oregon Ducks take on ASU Sun Devils.

Whether it’s at The Cooler or pretty much any sports bar in Eugene or Springfield, you’ll find the game on and a crowd watching it.

Cooler manager Phil Barry says having a weekday game at home always draws a better crowd than away games, but that doesn’t mean fans are shying away Thursday night.

“I’d say generally all-around Eugene, Thursday nights are kinda go-out nights for a lot of people. I think most places are busier on Thursday nights than on their other nights,” Barry said.

Throwing a Duck game into the mix means an even busier Thursday at most local bars and restaurants.

Kick-off begins at 6 p.m. Tempe.
