CORVALLIS, Ore. — The Oregon Ducks came out on top Saturday, beating the Oregon State Beavers 48-24 in the 116th Civil War showdown. A record number of ducks and beavers flooded the stands at Reser Stadium, and spilled out onto the streets after the game, with a count of 47,249 fans.
Fans say the rivalry was loud and clear this weekend. But beaver believers say they felt a little hopeless toward the second half of the game, as the ducks dominated on the field. Win or lose though fans agree, nothing beats the atmosphere of a Civil War game. Many fans say the game panned out pretty much the way they had expected, although some thought the black and orange would put up more of a fight.
